The Educational Association of Athens “Hfaistos” is a non-profit body founded in 1935 to provide technical vocational education and training.

In the 1960s and 1970s, graduates of various technical guidelines from Hfaistos worked in many productive sectors and contributed with their knowledge and technical training to reconstruction, rapid economic upturn and industrialization.

Hfaistos has a privately-owned school complex of 4,500 sq. m. in the area of ​​Agios Eleftherios in Patissia, in which he aspires to establish a center of innovation, education and support of innovative youth and social entrepreneurship. It will offer all the necessary infrastructure and services that a new business needs in its first steps, such as training, multimedia, meetings and events, to be exploited by businesses that do not yet have their own facilities.

The aim is to create, in the heart of Athens, a incubator of innovative knowledge-intensive and creative economies to boost entrepreneurship and especially young people, that focus on outward-looking, innovative businesses.

In 2007, with the support of Hfaistos, the non-profit organization “Academy of Entrepreneurship” (www.akep.eu) was founded. The European Brand of the Academy of Entrepreneurship has been registered at the European Trade Mark Office for the 27 member states of Europe. Since 2008, the Academy of Entrepreneurship is a national partner of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and in 2013 is a National Member for Greece of the Startup Nations Global Startup Network.

The aim of the Academy of Entrepreneurship is to support the extroversion of young entrepreneurs in the region of SE Europe as well as to support their networking at national and global level through workshops and conferences on the organization and proper functioning of an innovative newly established enterprise.

Today, with the Educational Association of Athens, Hfaistos as one of its founding members, the Academy of Entrepreneurship focuses its efforts on the revival and forging of its present and future so as to establish itself as a nursery for innovation in the wider Eurasian region.
